Al “programa Tirant” s'ofereixen aules de mar i cursos de navegació d'altura, on s'inclou la participació en Regates de prestigi com aquesta. Té per objecte difondre el coneixement del medi marí i la seva biodiversitat, així com conscienciar sobre la seva necessària protecció i conservació, acostant la navegació d’altura a la població. La Goleta Tirant Primer és un vaixell escola de la Generalitat Valenciana de 1.993, de més de 25 metres d'eslora, que ha estat recentment renovat i posat al dia per continuar amb la seva tasca de promoció educativa i de conscienciació mediambiental a través de la pràctica de l'esport de la vela de creuer.
